The Alberta Snowmobile Association is once again pleased to announce
two scholarship programs, which are available to ASA Trail Pass members.
We are the Alberta member of the Canadian Council of Snowmobile
Organizations (CCSO) and a member of the Western Chapter of the
International Snowmobile Council (ISC).
The ASA offers a $2000 scholarship and the winner will be entered
into the Western Chapter of the International Snowmobile Council, who
offer a $2000 scholarship. These will be awarded to either a graduating
senior from high school or a person who is currently enrolled in
college. This will be given to the winner regardless of other grants or
scholarships that the student might also receive.
To qualify for either program, the following criteria must be met:
The applicant must be a Trail Pass member of the Alberta Snowmobile Association as of January 1 of that scholarship year
The applicant must submit with the scholarship paper:
A cover letter
A resume including extracurricular activities
A summary of his/her involvement in snowmobiling including Trail Pass number
A transcript of his/her grade point average
The applicant must include a paper on the following subject
essay should be a minimum of two typed pages, double-spaced using
initial caps, Arial, font size 10 and the alignment should be justified.
This year’s scholarship essay is to be written with the following theme:
Essay Topic: Partnerships are a must in the snowmobile world! The more partners we have in our industry, the more successful we will be in every challenge we are faced with. Cooperative partnerships can be made at a Local, State, Provincial or even at a National level. It is better to have partners then opponents.
Essay Challenge: In your own words:
1. Why are partnerships so important to your Association/Federation?
2. Who are some of your current partners of your Association/Federation?
3. How are those partnerships working for your Association/Federation?
4. Can you share with us your thoughts of how and where we can go to find and develop new partnerships to further the cause of snowmobiling?

Any entries received after that date, will not be considered.
The Alberta Snowmobile Association will arrange for judging of the
entries and will forward the ASA Scholarship winning paper to the
Western Chapter Scholarship Chair for entry to that $2000 scholarship as
