Describe yourself in 3 words: Passionate, Caring and Adventurous

How did your interest in sleds start? When I was around 5 years old my parents organized the Zama City Poker Rallies and managed the Snowmobile trails in the Zama area.

We grew up having skidoos, pulling each other around on GT's behind, skidooing to school and always being associated with the Poker Rallies.

Only 3 years ago I started Mountain Riding which has brought on a whole new interest in riding.

Why are you a member of the ASA? I am a member because not only is snowmobiling a passion of mine but because this is an organization that helps gain and provide opportunities for many small towns to operate a club. ASA supports our local groups and helps maintain the sport of snowmobiling in Alberta.

Who makes up your typical riding crew? Our “Kakwa” crew consists of 16 main riders and normal there is always new people joining in! Between the 16 of us we own 4 cabins which we bring in and out for Kakwa for the season. It all started with my younger Brother Ty going up to Kakwa with Tyler Stone and a few of the "ol" boys.

Once my dad started going he was hooked and wanted to build a family cabin so we could all go up together!

My Dad, Brother Ty, Sister Alaura and Boyfriend Cody, along with some amazing friends all get to enjoy sledding together!

What’s your “real job?” I am the Community Development Manager for the Town of High Level. We are known as the "fun" department of our town. We plan events, work as FCSS, plan programming, mange a portion of the Emergency Social Services (evac centers), and a whole lot of stuff in between!

Some of my favorite side hustles have been/are, Volunteering/working with;

  • Mackenzie Frontier Tourist Assocation
  • Zama City Rec Board
  • Far North Nordic Ski Club
  • Rocky Lane Ag Society
  • High Level Curling Club
  • Mackenzie County Library Board
  • Tims Horton's Smile Cookie Campaign

Favourite Alberta trail to ride? The Trail to the Kakwa Lake Cabin as well as the trail to Hutch Lake Cabin.
